There are many reasons why pesto is very often found on the menu of many households. In addition to the fact that the process of making it is very simple and thus accessible to everyone, it is an extremely tasty sauce and a great goes well with pasta and many other dishes. If you look at any recipe for pesto, you will definitely find some of these ingredients in it - herbs, nuts (hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds...), grated hard cheese, olive oil and other additions depending on your tastes and preferences.
When making pesto, a blender works best because it is the fastest and best option, and a hand mixer can also help, or you can simply grind all the ingredients in a mortar.
Tušt is a wild plant that is extremely healthy (be sure to google it, there's no need for me to write everything down for you), it has a sour-bitter taste, which suits us very well, and in combination with other spices, you can create flavors exactly to your liking.
This time, we combined pesto with exquisite pasta with pumpkin seeds, which we definitely recommend you try. The taste is phenomenal. Mičnjak pasta is without eggs, additives and aromas and is an excellent source of protein, fiber and carbohydrates, which makes your meal complete and nutritionally valuable.
Ingredients
- approx. three handfuls of thyme (leaves and thinner twigs)
- 120 ml of olive oil
- half a lemon juice
- 40 g of hard grated cheese + for sprinkling the dish
- a handful of almonds (some other nuts can also be used)
- 2 cloves of garlic
- salt and pepper (amount to your taste)
STEP 1) Wash the shower well and remove the thicker branches.
STEP 2) Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix until you get the desired consistency. If you see that the mixture is too dry, add olive oil.
STEP 3) Taste the pesto to see if any seasoning is missing. We added a little more salt and lemon juice to ours, but these are small things and vary from person to person.
STEP 4) Cook the pasta according to package directions. When the pasta is cooked, strain it and serve it with pesto and sprinkle with grated cheese.
Enjoy your meal! :)
