Manestra with sweet potato and pasta with chia seeds

How many times a week do you eat something "on a spoon"? We make an effort several times a week, and especially when something warm, tasty and healthy just suits us.

Maneštra with sweet potato is a great idea for lunch or dinner, it is extremely healthy and really refreshing. In addition to sweet potatoes, the recipe also includes mushrooms, peas and other vegetables, and Matičnjak pasta with chia seeds fits perfectly. Maticnjak pasta is without eggs, additives and aromas, and the fact that they are an excellent source of protein, fiber and carbohydrates is especially pleasing.

Many things can be combined with pasta, so you can have a nice lunch that everyone in the family will like in no time. Pesto is a sauce that can be prepared in an instant, so if you haven't already, be sure to take a look at the recipe for pesto from tusta.


  • olive oil
  • onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 250 g of mushrooms
  • sweet potato (half of a larger one)
  • 150 g of peas
  • 1.5 l stock (I used chicken stock) and water
  • 1-2 tablespoons of pureed tomatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • spice mix
  • pasta (I used Maticnjak pasta with chia )

Step 1

Put finely chopped onion and garlic on the heated olive oil and add salt.

Step 2

When the onion has softened, add the mushrooms (which you previously cleaned with a paper towel and cut into slices) and stew them for ten minutes. Season with salt and spice mixture.

Step 3

Then add the sweet potato (peeled and cut into cubes) and the peas, which you cook until halfway in another pot - not until the end, because they will still be simmering together with all the ingredients. Simmer the sweet potato and peas for a short time so that everything is cooked through, then cover with the stock and water.

Step 4

Cover and let it simmer gently until the sweet potato is soft. Add the pureed tomato so that your maneštra is not pale and "sugar" at the end, pasta with chia seeds, according to our taste aldente - approx. 5 minutes. Lunch for 5.
