If you are one of those who don't like hot porridges for breakfast in the summer months, but rather prefer meals that hydrate, but also nourish, then this green smoothie can become your favorite breakfast during this period! 😃
Ingredients:
- 1 small banana
- 1 dcl of kefir/yogurt/herbal drink/water/whey
- ½ pear
- 2 handfuls of baby spinach (can also be fresh)
- 2 tablespoons of golden flax seeds
-
1 teaspoon Hemp seed oil
- juice of ½ lemon
- a couple of mint leaves
The World Health Organization recognizes hemp seed oil as a natural antioxidant and the only balanced source of essential fatty acids, which means that the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids is 3:1 (the ideal ratio).
The balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids is extremely important for the function of the cardiovascular system, joint function, insulin balance, skin metabolism and even gene expression.
Today's Western diet implies an excessive intake of omega 6, compared to omega 3 acids (10:1).
The by-products of the breakdown of omega-6 acids promote inflammatory processes, the growth of tumor cells, and blood clotting.
Along with the recommended consumption of blue fish, vegetable oils such as hemp and linseed (as well as seeds) contribute significantly to the total dietary intake of omega-3 acids.
